śp. Carol J. (Walrath) Miklic, 76, a life long St. Johnsville resident, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 1, 2016, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Utica, NY, with her loving family by her side.
She was born October 26, 1939, in Little Falls, the daughter of the late Kenneth and Carmita (Conrad) Walrath, and was a graduate of St. Johnsville High School, class of 1957.
Her marriage to Louis F. Miklic took place August 18, 1962, at St. Patrick’s Church, in St. Johnsville, by Reverend Walsh.
Carol was last employed at the St. Johnsville Central School as a secretary for 18 years. She retired in 2005. At one time, she was employed at Dr. Craig Murcray’s office in St. Johnsville.
A woman devoted to her family, Carol proved herself a long and caring wife, mother and grandmother. Carol was the biggest fan for her children and grandchildren’s sporting events. She was an avid Yankee fan and enjoyed following college basketball.
Survivors include her loving husband of 53 years, Louis; three daughters, Michelle Bodnovich and husband, Chip, of Hinckley, Ohio, Laura Empie and husband, Paul, of Johnstown, and Janice Watrous and husband, David, of Whitesboro, NY; five grandchildren, Kate Bodnovich, Ben and Justin Empie and David and Allyson Watrous; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws.
She was predeceased by an infant daughter, Deborah Sue Miklic.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. from St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Main St., St. Johnsville, NY, with Reverend Rafal Dadello, Pastor of Holy Spirit Polish National Catholic Church, officiating. Burial will follow at St. Johnsville Cemetery.
