Members of the Holy Spirit Polish National Catholic Church, PNCC, of Little Falls held their 84th annual parish meeting on Sunday February 21st. The parish was formed in 1926. The new committee, elected at the meeting, is Chairperson John Rogers, Vice-chair Teddie Colorito, Treasurer Francis Crandall, Financial Secretary Karen Filipski, Recording Secretary Janice Kupidlowski-Rogers and Directors Suzanne Bladek, Joan Crandall, Amy Brien, Tim Brien, Anita Dulak, Jimmy Filipski, Ron Hrobuchak and Gary Crandall.
The parish maintains a cemetery on Route 5 in East Herkimer. The cemetery committee members are Chairman Teddy Wojicki, Tim Brien, Jimmy Filipski, Mark Wojcicki, Jennifer Crandall, Suzanne Bladek, Cheryl Crandall and Ron Hrobuchak.
The PNCC was organized in Scranton, PA in 1897. Some of the differences between the denomination and Roman Catholic Church are that PNCC priests are allowed to marry and that the PNCC is a democratic church where the people control the finances of the Parish and elect the bishops of the Church. The Bishops of the Church cannot force a Parish to close or merge, only the people who own and maintain the Parish can make that decision for themselves.
Holy Mass is normally offered at our Parish at 11 a.m. on Sundays. People of all ethnicities and backgrounds are welcome. Holy Mass is celebrated in English though Polish hymns are often sung. To learn more about the parish please call Fr. Rafal Dadello at (315) 823-0793.
